Edusave Character Award (ECHA) 2020

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has introduced the Edusave Character Award (ECHA) in 2012 to recognise students who demonstrate exemplary character and outstanding personal qualities through their behaviour and actions.

ECHA awardees must satisfy the following eligibility criteria :

a)    Awardees must be Singaporeans studying in government/ government-aided primary or secondary schools, independent schools, specialised independent schools, specialised schools or junior colleges/ centralised institute (JC/CI); and

b)    Awardees must, on a consistent basis, demonstrate good character and values.

 The selection process is as follows :

i)       Nomination (from 9 March 2020 to 30 March 2020) 

Nomination Form (Form A) can be submitted by students, teachers and other key stakeholders (including parents) who interact with the students. Shortlisted nominees will then proceed to the next selection round. (Click here to submit the online Form A).    

 ii)     Shortlisting (from 13 April 2020 to 27 April 2020) 

The shortlisting of nominees will be conducted by a panel comprising school staff. Shortlisted nominees will be required to provide a writeup about themselves. Feedback will be obtained from her classmate, a Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) co-member of her choice, her CCA Teachers and Form Teachers. Details of the submission of writeup will be given to the shortlisted nominees by 13 April 2020. These nominees will be notified of the results of the shortlisting round by 10 July 2020.   

 iii)    Interview (20 July 2020 to 7 August 2020) 

The shortlisted ECHA nominees will be interviewed by a panel comprising school leader(s) and member(s) of the School Management Committee (SMC) before the final validation and endorsement. 


ECHA awardees will receive a certificate and an award voucher worth $500/-.
